Jeff,

The NJ Outstanding Whitetail Deer Program, as its called here has bow, shotgun and muzzleloader categories. Both those categories are seperated into typical and nontypical deer. Typical for all must be 125 to qualify and 135 for nontypicals. In addition to the rack measurements, we also have a 200 pound buck category and a 135 pound doe category. Both these weights are field dressed, not live weight. Unfortunately i have never been able to enter anything as of yet, but the season is still going.

Same in WI I believe. 125 bow, but 150 for a typical gun buck.

In NY, it is 120" for typical and 145" for non-typical, I believe.

I don't know about any bowhunting Ohio specific book (there certianly could be one, I just don't know about it). Ohio Big Bucks club is 145" net typical and 160" non-typical.

I must be in the dark, what is the state book? Im not into scoring racks. I scored a few to see what they would score for fun, and have several over 125".

Many states have an assocationwhich recognizes trophy animals that have been taken in it with various weapons.

In MN we have the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association
