Default My "Dream Season" (kinda long, w/pics)

My wife and I learned that we were pregnant(first child)back in april, which was great. The due date was set at November 7, which was kinda bittersweet because of the prime of deer season. So I knew if I was gonna get a buck, it needed to be early season. Friends and family all said that after he was born, I wouldn't feel like hunting. So on October 25 @ 5:30 pm,my sonwas born, and still no buck. Call me crazy, but it actually affected me in the opposite way than what everyone said. I was driven to get my buck. I wanted tocontribute tomy team (team 18 Rack-a-maniacs), but also for my son. Its like I wanted him to be proud of me, when he is older ofcourse. So as bad as a felt leaving my family on satuday and sunday mornings, I was determined to give 100%. As the rut approached and my hunting buddies/family (GaHeadHunter, RTA47) both scored bucks, the pressure was on me. My uncle Terry (RTA47) jokingly said "Aw, you'll probably get one bigger than ours" and "You'll have a heck of a year if you dokill a buck, that'd be the icing on the cake!". Well this past sunday (11/11/07) it happened! My first bow kill to boot. And our season ain't over yet, and we are allowed 2 bucks. I am perfectly content with my "dream season", but God willing, it could get better.

My son: Remington Slade Bishop, 8.06 lb, 19.5"
