The ability to get close to game remains the essence of all bowhunting today.
Our archery season has ended. The bucks are safe until the orange army comes out the Monday after Thanksgiving then they run for their lives for 2 weeks and I won't even mention the doe.
Wow Pa has a short bow season. We in Md are blessed with a 4 and a half month season from mid Sept till the end of Jan and you can never tag out.
6 weeks, this year, Sept 29th to Nov 10, no Sundays.
And, there is a week long muzzleloader overlap season in for doe, 3 days rifle for doe and all small game, 2 weeks of turkey that overlap as well. I wish we'd start in Sept or at least run one more week, this week!
I will second both of Rob's posts. Orange army, thats the truth its darn scary out there. And I would give up body parts for one more week in our season.

Yes, this is the week to be out in PA. Sunday alone I was out doing some light scouting...saw two bucks sparring and had a nice tall 6 point walk towards me close to bow range as I stood in the WIDE open with NO camo on...I did spray down head to foot with scent killer so that might have helped.

There's good new and there's bad news...
The Good News ..once again I bought my PA Doe License and I won't use it..so I'll spare one your doe?
The Bad News.. (at least for the gun haters)..Can't wait..till The Friday after Thanksgiving. We'll meet for breakfast at exit 3 at 9am and then continue on up to camp! After chasing bucks by myself for the better part of 2 months, I'm looking forward to the comaraderie (sp?) that is gun season!!
And the 3 days prior to the opener are just to let you mountain boys know how us flat-landers roll...so lock up your wives and daughters!! That wild bunch is back in town!
Bow huntin is a solo sport except for you guys who can take a camera man up the tree with you and still kill a deer.
That being said, hunting camp is a great time and I will be in the Berkshires for opening of shotgun with NO tags so I will be the one cooking, dragging ect.
Looking forward to fat naked guys dancing on the tableand the laughs.
PS... PA is just wrong to pull bow hunters out of the woods so early. I complain our season starts to late (10/15) but it does run right up to Thanksgiving.

I would be glad for it to start a week later and run a week later. Now that the president moved the time change back one week we only get to hunt one week of the shorter daylight or getting dark early,b-4 we had 2 weeks and the rut was really kicking in high gear by the 2nd week of the time change, which would be this week!
