Blue tongue is bad in parts of VA. A dairy farmer friend of mine has found more than 50 deer on his property dead with blue tongue.

Genrally, it's dead and has a blue tongue...

From what I've heard, it takes about three days from the time the fly bites the deer to the time it dies.

sounds like blue tongue. talked with a wildlife biologist who said when they experienced it there would be dead deer everywhere around ponds.
