Default My wife put an arrow in this one

My wife shot at this buck this morning and missed he made a circle and returned but she didn't shot again. She was shook she is new at bowhunting, new at hunting period. She has killed two bucks with a rifle and a doe. He cameback in this evening and she hit him she thinks just a little back. She called me after the shot, I was watching the kids and cutting wood. About an hour and a half after the shot I started tracking it, left good red blood, she said it ran about thirty yards and then walked off tail down. Anyway I tracked it about 100 yards and saw it bedded down watched a little and then backed out were going to get him in the morning (I hope)

Congrats to the misses! Smart move backing out on him when you found him alive and bedded. Chances are that is where he is tomorrow morning!

One of my hunting buddies hit one yesterday morning a little back. It turned out to be gut shot , but the arrow had red blood on it. He took up the trail this morning. Found the buck dead 300 yards out.
Giving it overnight is the right thing. You'll find him tomorrow.

She said a little far back, an hour and half isn't enough time on a hit like that as you discovered. I'm glad you didn't bump him, good luck, looking forward to pics.

A little far back is 4 hour minimum as a suggestion.
