Default Last Day Buck

My Brother shot this buck today at 10:30 AM. Today is our last day of archery here in PA. Unfortunately I did not connect so on to Gun season in a couple weeks.

Great buck!
Way to end a season.
The only buck I saw today was a very small 8, and several of his points were merely nubs. Not legal. Even if his points were an inch long I wouldn't have taken him. I'm always looking to the future...let 'em grow, ya know.

Congrats to him. A great looking buck. I ended the season with three does sightings and possibly two bucks sparring in some thick stuff at last light (I couldn't coax them out to verify that).

Yep, they are. You can hunt squirrels but not deer until the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Turkey is still in all next week, then bear season on the 19th-21st. Rifle comes in the following Monday...followed by late archery/muzzleloader after Christmas. The woods is hardly empty from here until Jan

Talk about last minute...my brother got to draw down on a wide seven point (18 inches) at sundown, that was chasing a doe and fending off a smaller 8 point. He had the buck behind his stand in some thick vines, at about 15 yards. Couldn't close the deal..no shot.
He was unscrewing his bow holder, getting ready to call it quits for the season when the woods erupted.
The doe ran all around him with the two bucks in tow until complete darkness. A hopeless situation at the final bell.
Maybe he will live for next year. Who knows?
