Default First Deer Ever!

I feel like I need to say thanks to everyone on this board. I have been lurking for a while but reading and soaking up everything I have read. After not having anyone in my immediate family hunt, I decided after 41 years to try it all by myself. From Bow selection to broadheads to how to scout an area, I put together a plan on public land in Northeast ohio.

I was on stand for 5 minutes in a very Strong wind when this guy decided to cruise. After I calmed my self down and took several deep breaths, he went broadside at about 20 yards and I was able to put him down. Went about 100 yards.

Thanks again to all of you!! I am offically addicted to bow hunting!!

Man he's nice!!! Congrats. I'm in a similar situation as you. Nobody in my family hunts, so I learned what I could from books, videos, the outdoor channel, and most of all this sight. Took my first buck last week.. Anyway congrats again, the thrill is unbelievable isn't it....

WOW!! Setting your standards a little high for the first one.....aren't ya? That is a great looking Buck you got there! This is the right place to get any info you may need to help you do, just what you did!
Way to calm yourself down to make a great shot, it's hard to do, especially on your first. He will make a great looking mount, if you choose to.
Congrats and keep up the great job!
