Default Swirling winds got me again!!!

These winds are driving me nuts!!!! I check them before I go in and they are good. Get in my tree and they soon start going any direction but what I want!!! Saw a "deer" sneek out to the other side of the woods tonite and Iam sureit winded me.
What can I do? What do you do when this happens? It does not happen all the time but enough to make it frustrating.

Default RE: Swirling winds got me again!!!

The only time I have had this happen is when I have stands near big hill sides and the wind comes over the hill and then swirls my scent with it. Than when the deer come down the hill they would pick up my scent. What I did here is move my stands far enough away from the hill that it wouldnt swirl on me.

Major scent management IF you don't want to move. I know this is redundant, but shower before you go out. Use a descented wash rag and dry off with a descented towel. Dress in descented clothing, under garments included, for the ride to your parking area and then change into your descented hunting clothes. Use your choice of scentreducing spray. This is what I do and I have no problems with being busted when the wind swirls. As a matter of fact, I've had several deer directly down wind of me and my buddy and they just kept feeding towards us.

Be extremely scent conscious and you should be ok.
