Default 6yr old says thanks to head shooters.

Today I had a guy bring in a nice deer that his son shot yesterday. His son is 6 and shot it, with dads help, using a muzzleloader. Real cool story and a heck of a first buck......

So I proceeded to skin it, after appropriate paperwork, and hit soemthing hard at the jaw. I knew that something wasn't right, having skinned one or two out before. So I took my time and guess what I found......

And the trojectory.......

So for those of you who ever thought of head shots, think about how much suffering this deer went through. I am amazed at how tough these animals are!!! How he could chew or even eat is a testimony at just how much they have to endure everyday. I called the guy and told him the story... he's convinced it was meant to be for his son.

WOW! So was the wound closed up or did it look like something recent. That's impressive, and what's also cool is that the Muzzy looks like it's in alright shape.

The entrance hole was healed over but where the broadhead was, it was real nasty and swollen. Definetly this year.

Well take that muzzy and put some new blades in it!! No really head shots are a terrible idea with a bow and the only time i take them with a gun is if it is the only shot i have on a wounded deer! I am comfident enough with a gun to make that shot at a reasonable yardage.

I would have liked to see the entrance wound and how it was healed.

Sorry I never took pics of the entrance hole cause it was healed over and barely noticeable. Truly a tough animal.

My guess is that it was just a bad shot that went wrong. I can't imagine any bow hunter taking a head or neck shot?
