If any one knows of a good place to donate deer for hungry in Illinois, I"™m in McHenry County. Please let me know. My freezer is full and I would like to help others.

Check with the church; ask your neighbors, friends, etc...

I have donated 5, so far, this season. You have to do a little asking during the off-season.....but it's worth it. I've got a place for as many as I can harvest.

When I donate deer, though, it goes to the people already packaged/processed. My processor waives his fee for the meat I donate (donate to a family of 14). There are organizations, too....FHFH is one. I'm sure you could do an internet search and find more. Check your state's DNR/Resources Comm. home page.

Here in Iowa you can take it to yer local butcher shop and donate it to the food bank and they just take it from there. I think that donating yer game is one of the best things you can do if you aren't interested in eating it yerself. Very noble indeed.

In VA we have "Hunters for the Hungary"...I usually donate one deer a year.
