Default rut in the north

well I am in michigan and the deer have started the rut. I am hunting almost everyday and night when I can. today I went out and I heard a shot sounded like a pistol. I left my hunting spot went to my garage put my stuff away then went back to the woodline in my yard. I began to look about when I noticed a truck a little ways away. Whoever it was was hunting a stand back to the right of me but drove their truck right into the woods. Now to me I like that idea because I feel the deer will not come around when they hear a vehicle in the area, and that hunter will be unsuccessful. I dont want anyone shooting at the big buck thats back there. Does anyone else feel the same way I do? also what do you think about the vehicles in the field? does that scare deer from the area? as far as the gunshot I have no idea what it was. Honestly I think drivng a vehicle in the woods is bad hunting and you can count on being unsuccessful in my book. what do you think?

I think it depends if there are agriculture fields around...deer are used to seeing trucks, tractors, etc. this time of year in those fields, yes they will run back into the woods, butthey won't keep running until they hit the next county.

Vehicles ? Thats the best way to clear them out and then get in undetected !!
True....I know that outfitters in Pike Co. IL will literally drive you to your stand, they don'teven ALLOW you to walk in, in fear of spooking deer.

well when I say the field I am talking about where the dear bed down for most of the day. The area that the stand is in and where the trucks were are not to be hunted. I guess its privately owned and the owner said no hunting. My neighbors filled me in on it yesterday. Not sure if I should go out there and tell them to leave or what? There is a huge buck in those woods. I have a food plot and feeder in my yard which buts up to the property that is not to be hunted. I have many photos thanks to the game tracker camera I have. I feel its not my place to go out there and tell them to leave being its not my property either, but then again I dont want to lose the opportunity at that buck. Lose him to someone whos not supposed to be there anyways.
