Default How to pull in a grunting buck?

Tonight I was sitting in my treestand when I heard a grunt coming out of the brush underneath about 35 yards away. Where I hunt is THICK and I never saw the deer. They have to step out into the narrow right-of-way for me to shoot. How do I get him to come closer? I have seen 2 bucks back there, a four point and a ten point. I'm hoping for the latter, but the former will do nicely as well.

you could always try a snort wheeze but it will most like run te smaller off. Or you could even try a growl with a rattle sequence.
Maybe wait for the right wind anf try some estrous.
Most of all be patient

If he's that close I would try a doe bleat or a soft grunt.

How to pull in a grunting buck?

tonight i had over a 30 min period, 5 diiferent buck on a hot doe trail. i grunted, snort/wheeze, buck roar, and "canned them" only 1 buck responded to within 40 yards.

ill take 1 out of 5 buck any day. its luck of the draw if a buck responds.

I would definitely grunt at him. You might also consider using a drag before you get in your stand and drag from that area into the shot opening you have. Good luck and be patient.

Wednesday morning I had 2 bucks fighting at 75 yards. When they stopped, I let out a loud long grunt and they both came right in. Shot the 7 point a little while later.

The cans X2 have been working great for me this year. Like to throw in a few soft grunts as well.

I shot at and missed one that ran out from 15 to 60 yards and just stood there. A couple flips of the can and back he came.

If you gonna use drag lines START from where you want to shoot and head out like the spokes of a wheel. You can play the wind alot better and I believedeer often follow drags back to where they were started and the scent is the strongest....
