Shot a deer!! NEED QUICK ADVICE

Hey all, my brother shot a deer tonight...said it was 22 yards quartering away. He was in a 15 foot ladder stand. He shot the deer, said it looked a little back but pretty much heading for the offside shoulder....only looked to penetrate 12 inches...prolly the offside shoulder right??? Also, he said the deer ran a bit...then walked off very slowly...wheezing really hard...almost making a choking sound....What do you all think??? He has waited 2 hours so far and is just now on his way to look. I wanted your opinion incase you all think he may bump him.

Also...it was a very nice 10 pointer..he believes....at least 130 to 140....possibly in the 150 range.

Give him one more 30 minutes and go get him,its better to be carefull than foolish.

I've never heard the wheezing choking thing....what do you all think of this???

If unsure of the shot wait till morning or at least 6-8 hrs. You push him now he will probably not be found...

Sounds like he hit the Buck in the lungs....I would go in looking for the deer but take your time and listen for any coyotes howling or barking.They will be looking for the Buck too! [&:]

I would sit tight tonight and check first thing tomorrow. As mentioned above, if he hasn't expired and you bump him....you may never find him.

Sounds like a partial lung shot to me...

I would wait about 30 min to an hr longer and go get him, sounds like a really good hit, maybe.

Never mind....it's a dead dear. He found it about 10 minutes ago. He said it only made it about 40 yards. It's a 6x5. I'm really happy for him. I will try to get some pictures up in about an hour when he emails them to me.
