I've stated before that Halloween has been a special day for me to be in the woods because my first two bow bucks were taken on that day. While I did not get one yesterday the activity was great. I went into the woods around noon and while walking down the creek to my stand a 4 point steped out of the brush and into the creek 40 yards ahead of me. He turned and walked down stream away from me. I thought, yes it's going to be a good day. Shortly after getting up the tree a doe came out from the same place as the 4 point and crossed the creek into brush on my side and walked away. Around 2:00 I caught movement 150 or so yards away in a small patch of dead trees. By the time I got my binoculars upI caught the back side of two deer going into the brush.I was looking through the binoculars when HEcame into veiw.AllI could say OH MY GOD over and over. He was the biggest buck I've seen while actually hunting. He followed the other two deer into the brush andI never saw him again. I was so excited I called my wife atthe office to tell her, not that she would really care but I had to tell someone what I just saw.
At 5:00 I had a fork horn and a button buck come out of a brushy draw from the cattle pasture and hang around for 20 minutes. Right under the stand. Then at 6:20 a doe and twoyoung ones came past me in the pasture. I'm going out again today and moving over to the head of the dead timber.
