I got my yearly miss out of the way tonight. Right before dark I had 4 does and a buck I guesstimate to be about a 140. My rangefinder said the buck was at 30yds so I held for 30. Ended up shooting right under him. Bummer. I walked over to were the buck had been and lasered my stand and came up with 32yds. From now on I guess I'll double check the yardage.
Sorry to hear that but if he was 32 and you held a good 30 you should have still got him do you think that maybe you could have dropped your hand a little.

Yeah its possible I dropped my hand. Hopefully I'll get another shot at him tomorrow. I've seen him in the area for the past week. And the shot just spooked him a little bit. He just walked of completly unafraid so more then likely He'll be back.
At least you missed him clean. 30 yards is a long shot on a deer with a bow. The reason I say that is because the arrow really starts to drop fast beyond 30 yards. If you keep your shots under 25 yards, precise yardage estimation isn't critical. At 30 and beyond, yardage estimation really becomes important, and the margin for error decreases quickly.
might be your range finder was reading a little lower the what you thought
