Default Great Awakening

So i get a call this morning around 8:30, keep in mind i went to bed at about 430... rough night lol. Its my buddy and he had shot a 10 pointer about an hour ago. He wanted to know if i would go help him track it and drag it out, so i figured what the hell and got outta bed. It was quartering away and he shot it right behing the ribs. He think he got a liver shot, the arrow passed through and there was a great trail. After following and then losing the trail numerous times, we find ourselves at a creek. He had gone up the creek about 20 yrds. Somehow we found his trail. It was only small drops by this time. About every ten feet. We lost the trail and just combed the woods. We were there from 830 to 6 and never found that deer. I guess he'll learn a lesson, to wait a while before chasing after em. We'll be back tomorrow to try again, but today was a huge let down. BUMMER

Lesson #1, If you are unsure of the hit, it best to back out and give the animal time to expire, Why do we notget this???? Every year we hear of someones excitement too hurry and claim there prize. Do they not read, artical in Magazines or Hunting shows, or yes even here....It has been said (When in doubt Back Out),MAN I FEEL FOR HIM.. Good Luck Tommorrow.....

yah man i dont know, i wasnt there for the shot, and he seemed to be confident that it was dead. It sucks to know that we jumped him and probably lost him, but its a good lesson for us both. I know that if it were me, i would have waited. Who knows, i'll let ya'll know if we find him. We found so many skeletons today lookin for this one. Its somewhat depressing
