Default How long to wait

i put a new stand up tonight (sunday night) on a piece of property that has not been touched for a few years.....i was wondering how long you all thought i should give the woods to settle down to hop up and hunt in the stand?

I Agree!! Your best chance is the first time in a stand IMHOThe more days you hunt it in a row, the more you chances of success go down.
Hunt it sporadically!! Keep it Fresh

I was going to give my .02 but droptine249 literally covered every base I was going to,

basically there are alot of variables to keep in mind most notably noise and scent

4 or 5 times i have put up a stand and killed deer out of it that day.

one of those times, me and my buddy robb were building a permanent one, he had his climber and we were going to hunt when we finished. AS HE WAS POUNDING A 2x4 INTO THE TREE, a nice 8 ran right up to us!

it bounded off about 20 yds away, i passed robb his bow and he double lunged it right there! at 1pm on a hot afternoon.... you really never know, but i am ready for a shot all the time!

good luck
