Default Got one last night! Tender steaks to be had soon.

It's just a young one, but I'm sure happy. I'd been in my tree saddle about 45 minutes when two "does" came sprinting through the woods at full speed right at my tree. I barely had time to grab my bow. The first one kept going right on by me but the second one stopped and looked around at 20 yards and broadside. I'll take that shot any day.

The deer only ran about 30 yards and died quickly. The bloodtrail was excellent. When I got there I was a little disappointed to see it was actually a button buck. Ithought it was adoe when I shot it. I don't feel too bad about it because when you've seen a total of 3 deer in 12 hunts this year, you can't be too picky. I'm a meat hunter whose freezer was empty, and those steaks should be real tasty!

I didn't have a chance to take pics (it'sjust a nubber anyway) because I had to get it into the processor beforehe closed for the night. Temps are going to be warm today so I didn't want to let it hang outside all day. The processor charged me half price since it was just a little guy LOL!

Thanks guys! Now I'm after a big one, buck or doe. Glad to get Monday's debacle out of my system.
