Default anybody modify a broadhaed to reduce weight?

a sales rep mad the suggestion to me. cut a few of the threads off (the part that screws into the arrow) to reduce the weight. like a 100gr head to get it to 85-90gr or a 85gr cut to about 75gr or so. it there was a concern that there wouldn't be enough treads on the head you could put a small drop of blue lock tite on it so it wouldn't back out.
I've not done it, just wonder if anyone else has.

you could buy a lighter head it there was one. but since there's not all weight options offered buy all compines you can't. ie the lightest rage is 100grs. i would prefer a 85gr., the lightes montec is 85gr i would prefer a 75gr., slick trick is 85, i'd want a 75.
get my point?

if the entire broadhead is only 100 grains, i dont see how taking off a few threads will be reducing anymore than3 - 5grains max.
