Default broadhead penetration

I've been shooting my bow the last couple of evenings. I usually shoot broadheads all the time. I shoot the magnus stinger 125 gr. and a muzzy three blade 125 gr. In my block target the muzzy always outpenetrates the magnus stinger. I would have thought otherwise.

Well sharpen them then test it. You cant judge it into a block anyway.
you have already weakened some spots more then others but if its consistant mabey one is sharper than the other

The 2 I shot w/ Stingers last year were sunk in the ground about 6"......Can't get any more penetration than all the way through.

I would also have expected the Magnus Stinger to out penetrate the Muzzy. These Block targets stop arrows by friction, so it is really not much of a test of what you could expect under field conditions. But either one of these heads should work very well for deer, elk, or bear.

I also shoot both the Magnus Stingers (100) and Muzzy 3 bld (100), and I shoot them both into a Morrell's Yellow Jacket Brhd Target.

The Magnus 2 blade way outpenetrates the muzzy's in my experience, in fact, the magnus will almost always be sticking out of the opposite side of the target about 6-8". While the Muzzy's only seem to penetrate the target about 10" or so... Very strange that a 3 blade is outpenetrating a 2 blade... must be by default by way of the target.

If you really want to see something penetrate a block target.... try putting some Woody's on your arrow, and using a field point.

In my honest opinion, Muzzys are by far one of the BEST heads out there, I have not had one fail me yet.
