Bear Whitetail II

I saw one today at a garage sale and got it for 35 dollars. It came with just the bow, quiver and sights and seemed to be in good condition. Can anybody tell me anything about this model and if i got a good deal. My other bow that i got a few months ago was a really old bow (probaly twice my age) and had just a little too long of a draw length, but this one has a shorter one that fits better and it also has a higher draw weight.

I bought one of those in 86' I believe? I shot mine for 5 or 6 years without any problems. It is a good solid bow and if it fits you good, you will shoot it good. You got a good deal. I would suggest you take it to a bow shop and have it checked out for safety reasons only because of it's age. Good luck with it!

I agree. I would think it would need new string/cables because of the age.

i still need to take it to the shop but i probaly wont get a chance for a couple of weeks, but from what has been said, any suggestions on a good string for a good price. Also, are there any modifications i could do to the bow for under 20 Dollars that would help in the long run. Finally, does anyone know if there is any room for adjustment with this model in terms of draw lenght/ weight.

I have a Bear/ Jennings now for years and I am still shooting with the same string and it works good for me. I would still take it to a shop and get their view on it first though. No one can really tell unless they were to look at it first. But, i would say you got a great deal on it though.
