Default PSE USA Spirit

Anyone know how old the PSE USA Sprit is? Just curious as I have one collecting dust in the closet. I haven't shot it as it needs a new string and assessories. I have been letting my brother shot my Guardian and now he wants to bow hunt this fall with me. I was thinking of setting up the PSE for him for his birthday coming up at the end of this month. The new string will probably cost more than the old bow is worth. Luckily I have all the other stuff for it except a release.

USA Spirit was my first real compound - boughtsometime between '90 and '92or so - 50-60#.Just to confirm that you have the same bow, mine was grey/black camo with a plastic handle, plastic round wheels.Very huntable bow for a beginner. I guess that makes it 15-17 years old. They also came in a brown camo color option.

Thanks for the info quik. I thought it was around that old. Sounds like I have the same model as yours. The one I have has 70 lb limbs at least. It is set around 70 right know. I bottomed it out and couldn't pull the string back even an inch and I am a big guy. Cranked it back down to 70.

Those Spirit bows are weird on the limb weights. Mine was a 50-60 pounder, but by the time I gave it away, I somehow had it drawing over 70# with the limbs bottomed out in the pockets. That's definitely one quirk about that bow that stands out in memory. Mine creaked on the draw after shooting it for a few years at weights that exceeded the limb ratings, which is why I had to upgrade. You could grease it up, and 3 shots later, she was creaking again.

Good hunting bow though. If your bro gets skunked this season, it won't be because of the bow.
