Default Time to raise score to qualify for P&Y?

I been thinking with all this new technology and food plots and all the huge bucks getting killed now is it time to raise the minimum? Of course keep the ones already qualified in the books but any new entries meet the new requirement if it ever happens.

In some states you might never get a shot at a 125 " in a lifetime . To a midwestern that statement might sound ugly.but thats how it is.

I say make it 240"

You wouldn't sell very many books that way though

Whatever... it's their club. They can do whatever they want. If you don't belong you don't have a say in it, nor should you.

I'd say QDMA is working.....based on the sheer number of P&Y/B&C entries in the last few years. Should it be raised (criteria)? I don't guess so. Does it mean the same? "I" don't think so.

I may measure my Dec. buck when he gets back from the taxidermist. If I do....I'll do so just to be knowledgeable and to compar ehim with deer in MY area. What people in IL shoot has no bearing on my deer. I set out to shoot the biggest deer (plural) in my woods, this season. I shot the biggest racked buck that I saw or had game cam photo(s) of. That'll be my goal for next and each season to follow.

I think (my opinion).....the magnitude of deer taken from ranches and outfitters has cheapened the record books. I also wonder what the "curve" would be if they adjusted the record book standards state-by-state? it might take 160 in Illinois or Ohio to equal 110 in NC (For instance....and with NO scientific data).

Just my thoughts.

You can't eat the books either...... I personally don't care if they raised it to 340"[:-]

Although more record book deer are being entered now days, it's not to the extent where they are just flooding in. Even in states such as Ill. Ia, Wi, Ky and ohio, there is not a P&Y hiding behind every tree. It is still tough to get a deer that netsat 125" or above, even in these states. In short, at this time I don't think there is a problem that would require the minimums to be raised.

I just saw on their website that they charge guys $25 to enter their bucks?

That is freakin hysterical. I thought this book had at least SOME credibility........I had no idea it was nothing more then a "Who's Who" full of deer.

So do people actually buy the book as well as pay the $25 entry

Man.......there is one born every minute.

But wait.....

You also have to have shot a qualifying animal.

Basically a moot point in your case, huh Atlas? Worry not.

You know how it is..... If you can't get in..... bash it and degrade it!
