Default Scoring a large rack

Hypothectically speaking would a typical framed deer with two droptines in the same exact location on the opposite sides be considered still a typical. I've rumors of a big 10x10 with drop tines runing around my area but havent seen him. I was wondering how it would be scored??

A typical has points extending off the top of the main beam. Even if the droptines are in the same place and have same length, it makes the deer non typical.

And if you kill this deer I want pics, 10X10?[:-]

That is a non-typical, scoring typical he woould loose what ever the '' were the drop tines.

Drop times were 16'' combine, 16'' would come of the score

It would be scored as a non typical because of the points branching off the main beam (drop tines) and not running along the top of the beam. Any points that are drop tines or kickers or sticker points are counted as abnormal or non-typical points. It would be a deduction (I think) to score it as a typical. Not sure on that but I think it would deduct if scored as a typical.

Actually it's your choice. You can score it either way. Scoreing that buck typical would have to many deductions.

Start with a main frame 8pt that will net 135" Typical, that would put you in the book by 10". Now take that same rack and add 2, 6" drops on it, All abnormal points are deducted in typical category, your rack now scores a total of 123 and noteligible for P&Y. Whats worse than that, the 2, 6" drops would give you a total score of 147" N.T. but not enough to meet the P&Y minimum of 150". So you have a perfect 8pt rack with 2 drops, and 147" or moreof antler and can't enter it, in either category!!! And so lie's the Problem of the P&Y scoreing system!!
