Baking Soda and blacklight test.....
After reading this article: http://www.huntingnet.com/articles/articles.aspx?articles_id=509 I bought a blacklight at Wal-Mart and tested my clothes, they are right about the cheap camo, the new pattern Wal-Mart sells, 3D Fusion, it was glowing like the sun, along with my hunter orange vest.
Fortunatly, I wear different clothes that were fine under the light, but I noticed that all the baking soda I put inside the plastic bags to help kill scent was glowing as well. Because of that, I thought I would let everyone on here know.
No big deal, take it for what it's worth, but it was interesting none the less. I ended up using a plastic orange vest, it didn't glow.

RE: Baking Soda and blacklight test.....
I didn't shake them vigorosly, a little bit, kinda like I would do going hunting. and it was still on there. The baking soda was more prominent around the pockets, where my hands were going in and out, it was kind of grinding it in their I guess.
It wasn't as bright as the cheap clothes, which were like a sheet of brightness. The baking soda looked like flakes and specs through out, but significant in my opinion.

I use the homemade scent killer recipe that I found here last year. It has a lot of baking soda in it. Deer do not seem to see me but now I am wondering if I am "glowing" in the woods?

I have some wally world 3-D Fusion and checked it with a blacklight after washing it in Sportwash and it was fine. No different than any of my other camo.

M.
Lots of hunters use baking soda to descent their clothes.
It absorbs andnuetralizes odor, or at least that's what I have always thought. Am I wrong?
Tx, good point
