Default Very exciting yet very weird morning!!!!!

I went out this morning and decided to ground hunt. I sat down and camo'd up, and about 40 min later I was almost attacked by quail- I counted 18 that I could see, some within 5 feet!!!! Then I hear noice behind me (I'm about 10 feet from a small pond down in a slight depression), I sneak my eyes around a see 6 hens, and hear several more behind me. I wait till they circle the pond and I am able to draw when they hit an old cow trail. I realease and 1 hen runs off, 2 fly straight up and away, the one I shot at (I swear I hit her) flies strait up about 6 feet, then folds completely up and drops behind a small ceder. I look for flapping and see none, I look for it to run off- nothing. I reknock and walk to wear it was- nothing- the other 3 have now joined up with 4 more and slowly walk off down a ridge- I look around and see nothing- only a small tail feather- no blod, nothing. I follow after them and climb up an old stump overlooking this small ridge. Then behind me walk 5 doe followed by a real small 4 or 6 point up this cow trail(I think it was six- but it was hard to tell. I draw standing on this stump in the middle of a clearing , they never spook- they never even look at me- but they also never offered a shot (brush and small trees line the trail) They walk right up to the spot where I was sitting an then pick up their pace a little and head off toward a field. I looked for 4 hrs and never saw anything off that turkey- nor did I find my arrow. Have you ever seen a Turkey react like this? It was very frustrating but wow- It's the closest I have ever been to so many animals- and the 1st Turkey I have ever been able to draw on a shhot at(I can't figure out how I missed) But man -What a Morning!!!!!!!!! How long do you think Should I rest this spot?
I forgot to add- this was also my first hunt after finding and wearing my CD necklace- I'm now a believer

Did you find your arrow? If not the turkey might have taken off with it in her. They can haul, believe me!!!!
