Default Homemade target?

i was reading in turkey call magazine today about homemade bow targets for turkeys. it talked about taking cans of expanding foam insulation and filling an old decoy with it an letting it harden. has anyone tried this or do you think it would be a waste of money???

Maybe. Seems like that expandable foam deteriorates though and I can imagine large chunks coming off with broadheads. Might work for field tips.

For the price of foam it probably not to much more to just buy a target

I have shot at a 3D target that was repaired w/ foam and it did very little to stop the arrow. I wouldn't think the mentioned setup would be very effective, unless you're looking for easy removal w/ possible complete pass thru.

why not draw a life sized picture of a turkey and tape it to a regular broadhead target.... cost = ~ $0.11

Try packing the decoy with rags. To be honest, I haven't tried it, but it might work!? I think I will try it...Now all I need is an old decoy!

If you have any old jeans laying around they will work for field tip but not broad heads.
