Default crossbow or compound bow?

I have a problem. I use my crossbow to shoot deer even though i shoot well with my compound bow up to 30 yards. I've practiced with my compuond bow for 2 years straight. I don't have enough faith in myself to take out my compound bow. I've spent lots of money on fixing up my compound bow but i am not quite ready to use it. My friends hackle me and say "you cheat" and stuff like that. To me if i am spending money on tags i want to give myself a good chance at getting a nice buck. What would you do in my position?

If you don't have confidence in your compound don't use it. No sense in
making bad shots. I would continue to use the crossbow if you are confident
in it. I prefer my compound but you must be comfortableeven if your buds
give you a hard time.

Continue using the x-bow this season and do some practicing w/ your compound during the off-season. Then see how much more confident you become.

Definitely go with the compound if you like challenges. Keep practicing with the compound.

Ditto , don't let peer pressure cause you to make a bad decision , your buddies won't have to live with the result . Once you can shoot your compound with confidence then use it , or switch between the two .

Crossbow hunting is fine. Ignore what other people say.

You can be whatever you want to when you grow up. You can be a gun hunter, an X-bow hunter or a bowhunter.[8D] If you choose to be an X-bow hunter....so be it.
P.S. But don't call yourself a bowhunter.[8D][8D][8D][8D]

I just want to say that I'm really impressed, and happy, to see the positive remarks to this guy. SO MANY times on boards, I see people get slammed for using this or that to hunt. I'm proud to be a part of this site (even though I'm a relative newb).
