Got to see Alex Rutledge from Hunter's Specialties...
My wife, two-year-old, and I were at "the mother ship" this afternoon (that's the Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO) and spotted one of those unmistakeable HS Pro Staff trucks in the parking lot that you see the guys driving in the PrimeTime videos. It had Alex's name under the driver-side window (ala jet fighter's cockpits; kinda cool), and we got inside just in time to see him start his seminar on calling and decoying.
We didn't get to stay for the whole thing (not sure who gave out first: my two-year-old, or my wife ), but listening to Alex's reportoire of calls he's mastered with his mouth was amazing. He even once made the comment that "Oh, they're paying me to promote calls; I guess I'd better use a few of those, too."
Never been one to truly go ga-ga just seeing someone that's sorta famous (at least in our little circle) but it was pretty neat, and I guess my respect level was raised a good bit listening to him in person. (I still wanted to give him crap for missing "his booner" in PrimeTime 8 .)
