Nothing big just about 14-15 guys from around where I live, but I was really, really suprised I won because there were some guys there that could shoot. The Good Lord decided to bless me that day and I give Him all the praise. It wasnt a 3-d shoot. The way they set it up (it would have been a cake walk for some of you guys) was 2 different areas. First they had a 3-d target set out at an unknown distance with a bright orange marker the size of your thumb nail placed in the center of the deer. Each shooter payed 1 dollar for each shot to see who would get the closest. Toal of 5 rounds, so basically you could shoot at it a max of 5 times. The 3-d was at 38 yards and on my last shot I nicked the orange, so thank the Lord I won that one. The second area was (again this is gonna seem really easy to alot ofyou guys) shooting 5 arrows at a target from 3 know distances ( 20 yards, 30yds, and 40yds). Scoring was done by each shooter shooting into a paper ring target that was placed over a block target. Bullseye was 12pts, next ring 10, next 9, then 8. Total diameter of scoring ring was approx.10 inches in circumference. I also won that area with 136 points, second place was 135 pts. Good thing is on my last shot at 40 yds I was real sweaty and my hand slipped on my bow and I hit outside the ring and got no points for my last shot and still beat the next gut by 1 point. Again thisshoot probably sounds really elementary to alot of you but I was very happy and thankful espiciallysince I started bow hunting only 1 1/2 year ago. Anyway just thought I'dshare this withyou guys. Thank you Jesus, because it probably wont ever happen again.
