Either one is a great bow , Im a bowtech guy myself but the bow madness XS is a excellent cheap $$ hunting bow , I wouldnt say the assassin is loud , its by no means the quietest bow but not the loudest either ,if the timing on the cams arent right form the start it will be loud , and thats what could have been with someone elses bow . I have been impressed with the bow madness since it came out several yrs ago , thats got to be one of PSE's best selling bows , your not going to get the speed of the assassin with the madness but dont get all wrapped up in that either , go somewhere and shoot them both , if someone wants to sell you a bow they will let you shoot them both . just pick the one that feels best in your hand and when drawn back , smooth draw cycle , no humps and lets down easily .
heres how I pick them and in this particular order 1} how it feels in my hand ,2} quiet, 3} accuracy
If it doesnt feel good in your hand your not going to be confident in the bow every shot and your not going to be as accurate as you could be with a more comfortable feeling bow , quietness well that one explains itself ,I own a Bowtech general and its one of the quietest bows ever made , first shot with it I had to look at it and make sure the arrow was gone when I pulled the trigger . LOL . I have owned most of the big name bows out there and none this quiet , its not a screamer by any means in the speed dept , but I would rather have a slower quiet bow that a loud barn burner anyday . Once again shoot them both and pick from what I have told you and dont play the speed game you will thank yourself later . OH the grip on the madness is thinner than the assassin but they both feel good
Good luck
Scott
