Recommended gear?
Hey guys,
I used to shoot a bow but never really got into it. I am really wanting to get back into it, but am totally out of knowledge when it comes to what I should go with. I will be shooting deer, bear, moose etc, basically any and all large game here in BC.
which bow, and bow assecories should I get?
Thanks a lot!

I bought a new '05 Mathews Switchback a couple of weeks ago and
I really like it. I put a Ripcord drop away rest, Copperjohn 3 pin sight,
Limbsaver S-coil stabilizer. I use Gold Tip carbon arrows and Thunderhead
100 grain broadheads. I would strongly suggest that you go to a archery
shop that has several different brands for you to try. I tried 4 different
brands before I decided and I am glad I did. What is good for me may not
be good for you, that is only something that you can decide. Good luck
and have fun trying all those bows out.

I bought the regular Switchback. I did shoot the xt and it was nice
but I decided togo withthe regular Switchback. The regular
Switchback is about 2" longer on the axle to axle and a little faster.
The xt was maybe a little more "dead" in the hand after the shot
but that is about all the difference that I could tell between the
2 bows. You really need to shoot them both and decide for yourself.
I did not shoot the ld because the dealer did not have any of those
yet. I do know that it is made for a longer draw lengthand the riser
is not reflexed as much as the regular Switchback or the xt. The xt
also has a little more brace height than the regular Switchback.

While the Switchback is a fine shooting bow (probably top dog), don't just go buy one. Check out as many brands, and models as possible, and shoot them all. Don't make your mind up until you've had a chance to shoot multiple brands and models. A bow is a very personal thing. Everybody has they're favorite, and usually it's what they've been shooting for a while, or a brand they personally have confidence in. I'm currently shooting a Darton, which to most guys isn't a real ""trendy" model. I like it, and it does the trick. Buy whatever you like, if it's a name brand quality really isn't an issue. Way too many good bows out there to say "whatever" is "best"....
