Default 14Ft Jon for Gator's

Has anyone tied a gator off to a 14ft Jon boat. I am told that after he is stuck with the line you can tie it off to the boat and let him pull the boat around to tire more quickly. Just wondering if anyone has done this in that size boat!

I don't know anything about alligators... but I hope you have a wide 14ft jon. I'd be scared in a narrow jon boat. Too tippy to be messing with an angry 'gator.

Good luck tho'.

Take lots of photos and share them with us.

i have heard of tying them off down here in florida and i think one of the pictures of a gator had been tied off to a boat about that size. just make sure it's stable.

Yeah I believe a gator could tip that boat over really quickly.

Like everybody said make sure you have a wide 14'. We hooked a 12' gator on a trotline on time and when we started pulling the line up it came off the bottom and took off when one of the hooks caught the side of the boat. It pulled us halfway across the lake before we could get the line cut. The game dept finally caught the gator and moved it because a lot of people were getting nervous about it being around.

jeese. i bet that was a super fun ride!! i've seen some pretty good sized gators before here in florida. if you want to see a real big one, look at the who needs a bow? thread on the bowhunting forum. you'll be pretty surprised.
