Default Anyone getting excited?

Its alittle early, but last year I got the bug really bad Jan 1 (once the bowhunting was closed) I've been starting to think about it this week, I'm going to get a new rig this year. I may have to plan a early trip outstate. Minnesota's bowfishing season opens May 1.

Good Luck!

Yeah, here in IL, the Archery-deer season goes through mid January, so that's my focus right now.
I'm hoping to get some new gear for Christmas, and then I can get back to it.

Hey, when does bowfishing open around here in IL?
Is it all year around?
Before I hooked up here, I'd only done it in the Spring.

I'm wanting to try bowfishing this year. Luckily we can bowfish year round down here. I bought a airboat the other day and when I finally get enough time off work to get it running I would like to take it out and give it a try. I'll probably buy a cheap recurve to use instead of my compound. What would be the best weight to get for bowfishing? We have a lot of carp and alligator gar we can shoot down here. I've seen the gar over 5' long here before so that would really be fun to try and get.
