Default What arrowheads do you use?

My favorite type of fishing arrowhead is no longer made so I've been experimenting with some of the newer designs.
To say the least, I'm disappointed.

Some have barbs that break easy, or really sharp points that get burrs the first time you hit something, and others that have moving actions that get gummed up after one shot into the muck.

What heads do you have confidence in, and would recommend?
I don't need anything armor-piercing, and I don't like the ones that require you to unscrew something to get the barb disengaged. Hands get too slimey handling the fish to get a good grip.

I use the Garpoon Fish Point. The barbs retract into the head when your not shooting, and then come out on impact. It helps when removing the fish from the arrow, by simply retracting the barbs and pulling out the arrow. The other broadheads I've used with the wire barb usually bends and to remove the arrow you need to turn the wire then pull out the arrow. That where I've had the wire bend a lot. And the constance fatigue on the wire causes it to break. I never did like those. As for hitting underwater objects, and dulling the point. Well thats come with the territory, and happen to all broadheads no matter what you're using. Just carry a small file with you and resharpen the point when needed.

I use the Muzzy fish points with carp tips. I like these better than the others I've tried.

I lose very few fish with these points and haven't had a barb break yet.

I do occasionally need to grind the tips down when I hit rocks. I also keep spare tips in the boat.

I like the Garpoon points, seems like they hold a sharper tip longer than the muzzy but that all depends on what kind of bottom you are shooting at. If you are shooting into rocky areas it really doesn't matter because either tip will dull in a hurry. I also like the tines on the Garpoon better, the Muzzy tines can really get bent out of shape easy if you get a bigger fish.

It looks like both the Garpoon and Muzzy heads need to be unscrewed. True?

Does the action on the Garpoon get jammed by muck?

Ive tried em all and prefer the muzzy carp tip...The stingray tips are good too but they are so long you hafta get better penetraion to get the barbs into the fish. Another oggd one is the penetrator heads but their barbs are kinda weak.....Tough to beat a muzzy.
