Default poundage for bowfishing

My son is wanting to go bow fishing and has a Mathews Gensis that is set at 30 lbs. Will that be all the weight he will need for this?

30 pounds is plenty for bowfishing unless he is making long or deep shots then he may need more poundage. but everyone i know only uses between 30 and 50 so he is good to go

30# is ideal, a lot of people are shooting with to high draw weight, not doing anything but getting a workout.
