Well iwent out fishing by my self at my lake a few days ago. I actually remembered to bring my bow this time and when i got a little tired fishing i pulled the ol' bow out to rid the pond of a few carp. first shot was a "two birds with one stone". I shot the snapper on accident, i thought it was a carp swimming under my boat and i let the arrow fly. Pretty damn scary to pull a 15 pound snapping turtle up when you are expecting a nice safe carp! Oh well the turtles need to be thinned out also so it was a plus. Crappy pics, was from the cellphone. Oh and there are a few slabs we caught yesterday after work. 2.5 pounds each. to compare, i wear a size 12 shoe.
Those crappie are perfect examples of QPM(quality pond management). For about 10 years out of the 15 years we have had this land, my brother and i have been putting TONS of trees in. Those were taken out of a 30 acre farm pond that doesnt go deeper than 12 feet. We also pull 10 pound bass outta there and 15-25 pound channel cats consistently. its a amazing the say the least
That's about as UNhappy as I have ever seen a turtle look.
Sweet.
