Default Scouting for Bowfishing?

Hello, Im new to bowfishing and I want to know how you guys/gals find the spots to shoot the carp. I want to buy a recurve and set it up for bowfishing, which one would you recomend? Thanks.

RB,I used to bowfish a lot as a kid andnow trying to enter the sport again. We shoot lake Hartwellin SC.Here we find fish in the backs of shallow coves and on mud flats. Check ebay and cabelas. PSE kingfisher and PSE coyote are inexpensive recurves that would work well for bowfishing. Reflex also offers some recurves.

What's up RB. I shoot a PSE Coyote and I love it. It's got a machined-riser so it's easy to attach anything to it. All the holes are there and drilled and tapped already. But I also have a compound I got from a garage sale for $35. It hits really well too. I guess I'm syaing you can go as cheap or as expensive as you'd want. Your average shots are usually less than 20' away.

As far as scouting, carp are fish; they're not always in the same areas of the lake from one day to the next, just like crappie orbass or walleye. You just walk and shoot when you see them. Shallow areas are the most popular places, with mud-bottoms, but you can find them in alot of other habitats too, depending on the fish, time of day, time of year, weather conditions, etc.

Good luck. And post some pictures when youshoot some!
