It all depends on what types of lights, how many watts? and what else you are going to hook up to the genny. I have 6- 500 watt lights and replaced the bulbs with GE Ultra 225w. It has about the same Lumens as a 300w bulb.

Your best bang for the buck for a genny is found at Menards. They carry a 3500w Wen Generator for around $280. It is not too terribly loud and is good on fuel.

Yes it is. It is a 3500w peak with 3000w of continuous power. Remember though you should keep your wattage at no more than 80% of the continuous watts of the genny.

I have the same genny. Well, mine is yellow instead of blue. Wen Power 3500. It seems to be a good genny for the money. Fairly quiet and under $300. I've got 20ish hours on mine and it's been great so far. Just change the oil every 10-15 hours and I'm thinking it should last quite a while.

I run 2 HPS 150's and 4 Halogens with 300 watt bulbs. Has no problems, but when I just run the 2 HPS and 3 halogens, it can run 5 hours on 2.5 gallons of fuel.

Wow I'm really impressed! You guys know your sh........stuff!

'sticker, if you're flush with cash, buy a honda or yamaha genny. If not, one of these honda clones like these guys have are the next best thing IMO. There are several different brands out there that appear to be the same generator with different color paint and/or lay-out of the recepticles.
Keep in mind they weigh about 100lbs ready to run. That would be an issue with the 11 foot boat.
