Default The varieties

I have shot five different species of fish so far.
1-Short nose gar
2-common carp
3-grass carp
4-small mouth buffalo
5-big mouth buffalo
I was wondering what species of fish you guys have stuck so far. Keep up the drillin and reelin!!!

That's a pretty varied list of species for the small numbers you gotten so far. You must be in a good spot for bowfishing to get all those so soon.

Until 3 years ago it was just common carp for me.
Since I hooked up with the Illinois Bowfishers, I've found a few more...

Grass carp
Mirror carp (Desperado's entry below reminded me of this one.)
Largemouth Buffalo
Smallmouth Buffalo
Quillback Carpsucker
Longnose Gar
Shortnose Gar
Spotted Gar
Bowfin (almost) ..missed it by that much.

I've only been out once but I shot a Tilipia and about a 5-1/2' water snake.

Common carp,
Grass carp,
Bighead Carp,
Silver Carp,
Longnose Gar,
Shortnose gar,
Spotted gar,
bigmouth Buffalo,
Smallmouth Buffalo,
Black Buffalo,
Quillback,
Bullhead,
Freshwater Drum,

I would like to add to this list,
Alligator Gar, Spoonbill, Alligator, Shark, Stingray (any variety), Flathead catfish, Tilapia.

Freshwater Drum,
Snapping turtles,
I'm stilling wanting to get a bowfin and a Bighead carp, along with a gator gar.
That is allI can think of right now.

I have some work to do to get a list like some of you guys, holy carp, I mean crap!!! Some of my spots have multiple species in the same spot, so you cant realy say for sure what your shooting at untill its flopping on the bank in front of you.
