Default Interested?...

I'm very interested in tring this bowfishing, but I don't know where to begin at.

My bow now is set up for hunting. Do I need to change my rest/sights to bowfish?

What kind of equipment would I need?
Is Bowfishing mainly done off a boat or is it possible to do off a river bank?
One last thing....Is this legal to do anywhere there is fishing permented?

Any info would be great guys!
Thanks!!

Better to use an old bow than your bowfishing bow. And for the basics of bowfishing, ;ool at the top of the bowfishing page for a link to an article on it, and scan the thread titles for questions you may have.

It shouldn't "hurt" the bow. Your rest may not handle the heavy fish arrows.
To both you and MT, read the thread pinned to the top here. "Learn the Bowfishing Basics" gives you lots of info to get started.
or click here: http://www.huntingnet.com/articles/articles.aspx?articles_id=504

This will answer many questions. If you have more, feel free to ask. We like to help.

Good Luck.

Depends on how much you like blood and slime all over it. Get a cheapie for the peace of mind. Bowfishing bows take a bit of abuse, and go with a LOT of lighter poundage than 70#m not just to keep from blowing through fish, but to save your arm from falling aff after a hard day's shooting.
