Default first time bowfishing

I havea fred bear 44 inch magnum....its a really really old bow so iwant to outfit it for bowfishing.....what all d oi need to buy and do to my bow?

Check out backwaterbowfishing.com or sullysbowfishing.com thay can get you set up for what you needd Also visit bowfishusa.com and see the different set ups there. It all depends on what you want and kind of fishing you want to do.

You can get into very simply for about $40, or you can spend 3 times that and get great stuff. Check it all out. Sully's in a great place to see good pics of the stuff.

simpleist reel ever, take an old soup can and attach it to your bow with tape or some thing and wrap your line around that, crude but it works!

make sure the soup can is full that way when you miss with the arrow you can throw the can and knock the fish out.

My Dad taught me to bowfish with a bow whose only reel was a piece of wood taped to the front of the bow with an aluminum tab nailed on to hold the line. That was the only bow we fished with for 20 years.
