Default Great Day for Fish......

Great Day for Fish......Bad day for me.

I left my recurve in my car for a few of the hottest days of the year. I went out and went to draw back and the string came off. The limb is really twisted. I posted a topic in traditonal section to see if anyone can offer some advice on how to fix it.

There were so many fish there today and no bow in my hand..........

boil the twisted limb to warm the glue up, then twist it back into shape and hold it there while running cold water over it to re-set the glue.

it's pretty easy to make a small straightening jig on a work bench. something that locks the riser in place and then you can apply pressure to the limb by my means of a homemade wooden lever. i'd use a steamer. immersing the bow will disolve the glue at the edges of the wood, leaving it to crack later. a steamer can be easily made withcoffee cans, sterno, and some funnels. look me up if you wantdirections.the key is to do it in a closed system, like a piece of 6" PVC.ndemiter@hotmail.com

Hey Spikehorn,

Did you ever get your bow fixed?
What method did you use?
