I WAS OUT YESTERDAY TRYING TO CATCH SOME WHITE BASS WITHOUT MUCH LUCK WHEN I NOTICED A COUPLE OF COMMON CARP SWIMMING BY MY BOAT. WELL I SAID THE HECK WITH FISHING LETS GO SHOOT SOME. AS ITTURNS OUT I ENDED UP WITH 14 COMMONS, 8 BUFFALO, I SHOULD OF HAD 3 TIMES THAT BUT I JUST KEPT MISSING ALOT OF EASY SHOTS. ALL IN ALL IT TURNED OUT TO BE A GOOD DAY IN THE HEAT. THE WATER TEMP WAS 86 DEGRESS IN THE LAKE. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE BOWFISH CARLYLE LAKE???
Nice going Roman, I've only bowfished Carlyle one time on the north end and there were too many underwater obstructions stumps) for me and then the wind came up big from the south west and just about blew us over. Bad combination. I would like to try again sometime but I think I would stay to the most western bank and coves. That water can get pretty nasty.

I have never bow fished it, but I duck hunt it a lot (or at least I used to). I can tell you that in the old river bed, there are spots in there that I used to see carp stacked on top of each other.

I bowfish the lake alot, inside the coves or just outside. In JuneI ended up shooting over 40 common carp and 7 buffalo in a 6 hour period. I've been out in the past few weeks but the water has been murky in those coves but you still can manage to get your share of shooting.
