Default Sights on a compound bow???

Do you have sights on your compounds? If you do have a front sight do you use a peep sight?

Thanks

I've seen people shoot fish with sights on their bow, but really, it just slows you down.

Your shots will be close, and most will be fast. You can shoot more fish if you learn to shoot instinctively. It really isn't that hard.

I don't think I've seen more than one sight on a fishing bow.

Since I rarely shoot out past 30 feet, instinctive is way easier.
Can't usually see fish out past that anyway.
I would have a hard time getting a compound drawn AND finding a peep in time to nail most of the fish I see.

It's a speed game more often than a precision 'pick a scale' kind of affair.

All right, I guess I get to play the Devil's Advocate here. I use a single pin on my bowfishing bow. Now a peep sight wouldreallyslow me down but a single pin is used very quickly for reference. Rarely do I get a chance to actually put it on the fish before releasing but itgets me in the ball parklaterally very quickly. I rarely miss wide right or left for that reason but I miss vertically all the time because you can't just put it on the fish depending on how deep he is, how far away, and the angle you're shooting at. It works for me because I can't hit anything instinctively consistantly. In fact most of the time I can't even hit the water let alone a fish. ha

I am one of those folks that still struggles to shoot well instinctively so I stick to my Parker Phoenix 34 with 1 pin ....but no peep sight.... what I did do is leave some serving tied to the string where my peep would normally be then I sight down the left side of the string where the serving is in place of the peep sight and I just hold my sight pin high or low accordingly for the distance the fish is.... I have the pin sighted in for 10 yards max... this setup works well for me...
I just shot my largest Common Carp with it yesterday he weighed in at 16.3 lbs[8D]

Congrats on the nice fish. We heard that there was a bunch of big fish in that lake.
