Want to Start Bowfishing, Any tips?

Hey all,
Im a serious bowhunter and have an '00 Mathews Q2 that I dont shoot anymore, I'd like to rig it up as a bow fishing bow... any suggestions about the equipment to buy??? Im looking at the Bohning Kit...


PS- I got a boat and good spot for carp...As I love to fish as well... so i thought i'd combine my two favorite activities...

If the kit you are talking about has a hand wrap reel, skip it. You are going to have much more fun if you pick up a spincast, like a Zebco 808, or a Retriever bottle type reel and a few quality arrows.

A good DVD or 2 would help get you going as well...

My advice is don't start! Once you start down the dark (bowfishing) path there is no escape...or something like that.

ya dont buy the hand reel after a few weeks of it you might try throwin it in the water and shooting it
