Default Has anyone ever tried...

..quill-back fillets? Just curious. I have a very clean creek that's just loaded with them. And I just found another last week (clean creek) that's also loaded with them.

I imagine they'd be a lot like buffalo, whatever those taste like.

Bowman, I've never tried one before but the comercial fishemen take a lot of them out of the Wabash river and there is a little bar and grill down here on the Wabash that supposedly has a fried quill back sandwich as their specialty. Come on down and we'll give it go.

Those quillbacks are spastic little, high strung fish.
They swim very fast, and appently are a bit lacking in the vision department. The one time I've see them, in bowman's creek, I almost got rammed by a school of them several times. They just freak out and swim at warp 3 until they have to zip sideways or screech to a frantic stop inches from whatever they almost hit.

Either that, or they are way smarter than I have given them credit for, and they were hoping I would draw and follow them and end up shooting myself in the foot.

Are they bony?

Hey Robow, if I buy you lunch, would you take me out for some shooting on your boat?

We can see how those sandwiches are, and you can show me how to shoot some bigheads.

You got it, and I'm serious about this. Let me know when in June or July works for you and we'll make it happen.
