Default First BF outing of the year for me.

The water finally thawed and the wind wasn't too bad yesterday, so Ishot down to a local carp spotwith my 3 year old daughter, and went walking the shore looking for some fishies. She had the biggest smile on her face when I suggested that we go fishing! I love having an apprentice to share this with. I'll love it even more when she's big enough to shoot with me.

Grabbed some lunch on the way down and ate on a picnic blanket.
As we ate, we chatted and watched theother fishermen, some birds, and she got to see her first muskrat.

No dice on the scaly things though. Didn't see any fish at all in fact, but we got 4 pop cans, 2 plastic bottles, and a worm container. She helped me spot them hiding on the bottom as she learned to move quietly along the shore so we didn't scare any fish, and then carriedour catchback to a garbage can so we could throw away the garbage that others had left behind.

As usual, many of the other fishermen had questions and wanted to see a fish get nailed, so I spent a few minutes doing some P.R., but the fish weren't cooperating.

As we were leaving, my daughter caught sight ofsome people fishing from a boat on the water. Now she expects me to get one too. I'll have to work on that while she's still young enough to think that Dad is cool enough to hang out with.

Congrats, sounds like a great outing! Kudos to you for taking her out.

You could be creating the next Bowfishing Goddess.

...and I won't tell her you're not cool. [8D]

Sorry for the let-down Mark, but don't tell my girl.
She'll figure it out all too soon.

It was real different than going out with a bunch of "adult" friends, but seeing the excitement and wonder in her eyes is all I'll ever need.

I agree my son is 13 and he loves to shoot a bow so hes getting introduced this year to fine sport of bowfishing. If he likes it as much as shooting targets i will have to go buy a new boat or he will bug me to death...lol I wouldnt have it any other way.......
