I shoot a recurve and just can't beat shootin' off the shelf. If I were to use a rest, I think I would have to try the 'whisker biscut' or the 'AMS wave rest'

Hey Sgt i use an eye bolt just a small one and it works great. YOu dont have to worry bout the arrow falling off the rest or anything like that. Now the two main downsides to this are if you have an older bow and its not a cutout riser for center shot your shots will tend to drift rigth for a lefty left for a righty. You just have to adjust your aim this i know first hand and it still works great ok. The second thing ive found as a downside is every once in a while the string will wrap around the rest causing much confusion..lol if you make the hit....also first hand experience....lol but other wise it works very well........

I don't think you could get me to trade my old whiskerbiscuit for anything. Except maybe a new whiskerbiscuit! Loads fast, holds arrow tight, shoots smooth, and is easy to modify or replace.

i use one of them wheel things. i dont know if its the best but i like it, it works, and its pretty cheap. the bad thing is if you dont hold your finger on the arrow, the arrow can fall off. buti usually naturally put my finger up there no matter what.

I like the shelf the best, but I've even been able to make a flipper work, for a while anyway.

I have a wheel that is OK, but it's a great place for the line to catch, so use cabled arrows orAMS safetyslides. I don't think the wheel actually turns during release anyway, so I still prefer something solid.

I have a brass roller rest on my bow right now. It works good for regular fishing shafts... butit doesn't play real nice with my Muzzy carbon arrow. (the carbon mag has aluminum outserts that hit the roller rest pretty hard)

I think I'm going to try the biscuit rest next.

Whitecloudhunter, AMS makes a rest called the Wave. It's an improved roller rest. I think it's teflon or nylon and it has sides so the shaft won't fall off. ('course, if your finger works.... )

I have been using a Satellite Archery rest. Its basically a plastic wheel with some washers and it only cost $3 at Bass Pro.

Well, I'll put in a plug for a home-made epoxy rest. It's cheap, fool proof, can achieve great arrow flight, arrow can't fall off/out easily and nothing to snag your line. I'll never use anything else, and oh yea, I have tried just about every commercial rest out there to this point and they are all sitting in a drawer waiting to be given away as door prizes.
