Depends on what kind of fish and from where.

The carp in my area have a health advisory against eating them. So.. I don't eat any of the carp from the Fox River. (I do sometimes find people who are willing to take them and eat them despite the contaminates)

I eat some of the carp from cleaner waters. I also eat some of the gar. I prefer the gar to carp. (more meat, less hassle)

If I lived where K2SOCO lived... I'd eat them all. (tilapia is like 6.99 a lb up here... I'm soooo jealous...)

I usually feed the coons. I have alot of really good fishing close by,so eating carp for me is like eating hamburger in a steakhouse. I know alot of people who use the carp for fertilizer; put one under their trees when they're planting, etc. They do get used somehow tho. All the carp I've set out have always been gone the next day.

I'm still working on the carp fillets. I'm waiting for K2OSCO to send me some of that special spice and crab boil to season my gar with. Those are some big..big filets.

The gar's hide/head is still in the freezer. I'll try to get to it this month and see how hard they are to taxidermy. (there's a lot of meat in the head.. so that looks like the problem area.. how to get it out.)

Take lots of pictures of Nick's melanistic gar. I think the cleaning/degreasing of the hide might cause some loss of pigmentation and you'll need references to have it painted up right.

Well, I'm heading down to Lake of the Ozarks to spend a few day at Tan-Tar-A resort courtesy of the state. When I get back I'll have him take it out of the freezer. I had him put it in as soon as we got home cause it sat in the sun while we were at the animal shelter.

AmanitaVerna I have not forgot about you with the spice. I have to go to a different town to get it shipped to you. I still have your address. As soon as I get to Felda I will send it to you. Just be prepared you will always want it after you use it!!!!! I would send you some Talapia if I could, but I beleive that would be a huge hassle. As a matter of fact I ate some grilled Talapia last night mairinated in Italian dressing, tasted real good!!![8D]
